Ali's Story

Ali Pierce was diagnosed with liver cancer at 12, and succumbed two years later. This video depicts the transforming bond she forged with Helen Mullen, the nurse from UMass Memorial Medical Center, who treated her through the entire course of her illness. Helen and Ali’s mom Anna Ling Pierce describe the many ways that compassion eased the family’s pain.
