Retreat Healthcare President & CEO

HINGHAM, MA, December 12, 2006 – Phillips DiPisa, an executive search firm serving healthcare providers, managed care organizations and life sciences firms, today announced that it has placed Robert E. Simpson, Jr., DSW, MPH, as President and Chief Executive Officer of Retreat Healthcare.

Retreat Healthcare, based in Brattleboro, Vermont, is a not-for-profit, regional specialty mental health and addictions treatment center, providing a full range of diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitation services for individuals of all ages and their families. Nationally recognized for its premiere treatment in behavioral healthcare, Retreat Healthcare offers a high-quality, individualized, comprehensive continuum of care including inpatient, partial hospitalization, child and adolescent residential, and outpatient treatment.

Dr. Simpson comes to Retreat Healthcare with more than 30 years of commitment to the treatment of individuals experiencing mental health and addiction issues as well as extensive experience in the management of mental health and substance abuse programs. He is a graduate of Amherst College, Simons College (MSW), Harvard University (MPH) and the University of Utah where he earned a doctorate in Social Work.

Most recently he has served as CEO of Arbour Hospital, a member of the Universal Health Services, Inc., in Boston. In prior executive management positions, he has served as Senior Vice President of Government Relations and Chief Operating Officer at the Sisters of Providence Health System and Vice President of Behavioral Health and Cancer Services at Baystate Health System in Springfield, Massachusetts.
