Dan Phillips
Partner

Founder Daniel Phillips brings a rich history of healthcare leadership experience to every executive search and every client relationship.

With an extensive background in healthcare recruiting, information technology and finance, he offers expert counsel on many human capital and resource issues. They include organizational structure, position definition, compensation packages, employee retention and other critical issues. Dan is known for his frank advice and his skills in assessing clients’ organizational challenges and identifying high-potential candidates. His strong track record of building long-term relationships demonstrates the trust clients place in him.

Before launching Phillips DiPisa, Dan held financial leadership positions at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center and Franciscan Children’s Hospital, both in Boston. In the high technology industry, he held key product development and sales leadership positions with Hewlett Packard, Amherst Associates (a division of McKesson-HBOC) and Transition Systems, Inc. (a division of Eclipsys).

Dan has written a number of articles on labor and recruitment topics for newspapers and industry periodicals. He is a past President of the Massachusetts Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Dan earned his B.S. from Suffolk University, Boston, MA.

Contact Ralph

Ralph DiPisa
Partner

Ralph DiPisa draws on 20 years of management, leadership and business development experience in his service to clients as a trusted advisor and partner.

As a former hospital CEO, Ralph offers valuable perspective to Phillips DiPisa clients. He understands what boards expect of their CEOs, what CEOs expect of their senior management team and what promising staff members need from their leaders. He conveys his insights with a characteristic warmth and camaraderie that instills trust and mutual respect.

Prior to joining Phillips DiPisa, Ralph served as President and CEO of Quincy Medical Center and as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Brockton Hospital and St. Anne’s Hospital, all in Massachusetts. During that time, he was a board member of the Massachusetts Hospital Association and the Massachusetts Council of Community Hospitals. In the for-profit sector, he served as Executive Vice President of Business Development for a leading imaging company.

Ralph is a Diplomate of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a past President of the Healthcare Management Association of Massachusetts. He earned an M.H.A. from George Washington University in Washington, DC, and a B.S. in Health Services Administration from Providence College, Providence, RI.

Contact Beverly

Beverly Jacobson

Beverly Jacobson is a talented search executive who brings extensive healthcare industry knowledge to the Phillips DiPisa team. Her initiative, commitment and personal attention contribute to her ability to seek out the best candidates for each search engagement.

Before joining Phillips DiPisa in 2001, Bev held senior management positions at the New England Healthcare Assembly (NEHA) for 14 years. NEHA was a non-profit, regional organization which created innovative and timely educational programs for healthcare executives. As Director of Administration, she led NEHA’s councils in designing, running, and staffing executive education programs.

Previously, Bev owned, operated and eventually sold a successful business offering fitness and gymnastics programs for adults and children.

Bev earned a B.A. in English Literature from Boston University, Boston, MA.

Contact Carmen

Carmen Kenrich

Carmen Kenrich brings more than 20 years of leadership experience to Phillips DiPisa. She has a broad perspective of the healthcare talent arena and has an extensive network for recruiting exceptional leadership candidates.

Carmen has worked in for-profit and not-for-profit hospitals and physician practice management, as well as managed care and healthcare planning and development. She draws her diverse experience from her work in Washington, DC, New York and Boston.

Prior to joining Phillips DiPisa, Carmen worked at Caritas St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center. She was on the senior management team and responsible for program growth and development, physician recruitment and marketing for the women and children’s services.

Previously, at Caritas Medical Group, she managed a 250-physician group practice and was responsible for the growth of physicians’ practices, marketing and financial performance. Carmen also held management positions at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Washington Radiology Associates, and The Parkway Hospital.

In addition to her full-time responsibilities, Carmen also served as Chair of The Wellness Community of Greater Boston Board, a support organization for cancer patients and their families.

Carmen holds a Certificate of Special Studies in Administration and Management from Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, and a B.S. in Healthcare Administration from Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY.

Jayne Kim

Jayne Kim is an experienced healthcare professional with 25 years of experience spanning executive recruiting, management consulting and clinical care. She has been with Phillips DiPisa since 1995, leading senior-level searches in finance, support services, operations, IT, compliance, marketing and development.

Jayne brings focus to all of her search projects. Her experience enables her to understand the interactions of all functions within healthcare organizations. Jayne prides herself on thoroughness, honesty and regular client communication throughout the search process.

Before joining Phillips DiPisa, Jayne worked with Peat Marwick in New York City and Coopers & Lybrand in Boston as a healthcare consultant. She began her career as a registered dietitian at both Quincy and Boston Medical Centers in Massachusetts, as well as NYU and Mount Sinai Medical Centers in New York City.

Jayne is a member of the Massachusetts Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. She earned an M.P.H. from Columbia University, New York, NY, and a B.S. from the University of Vermont, Burlington, VT.

Thomas J. Lynch, Jr.

Thomas Lynch joined Phillips DiPisa as a seasoned healthcare executive with more than 25 years of experience. With expertise in community hospitals, academic medical centers, research and network administration, Tom offers clients unparalleled guidance in areas of recruitment, retention and organizational structure. He is a results-oriented search consultant who has developed an expertise in senior executive and physician leadership searches.

Tom is a past recipient of the Massachusetts Healthcare Executive of the Year Award given by the American College of Healthcare Executives. He has served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of community and teaching hospitals, including Newton-Wellesley Hospital and St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, both in Massachusetts.

A former Chairman of the Board of the New England Healthcare Assembly, Tom is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Healthcare Management Association of Massachusetts. Tom received an M.H.A. from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN, and a B.S. in Marketing from Boston College, Boston, MA.

Denise Trammel

Denise Trammel is an accomplished executive search professional who joined Phillips DiPisa in 2001. She partners with clients to recruit talented leaders in a wide variety of functional areas including marketing, finance and clinical service line management. Denise’s professional interests include the organizational dynamics of healthcare quality in hospitals and health systems.

Denise brings extensive professional and business experience to Phillips DiPisa. Beginning her career as a clinician, she transitioned into management consulting. She assisted hospitals with organizational and capital planning including regulatory and financial feasibility analysis. Her healthcare experience encompasses the continuum of acute through post-acute care.

Denise is a member of several professional organizations including the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Medical Group Management Association, the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, Connecticut Women in Healthcare Management and the Connecticut Healthcare Human Resources Association. Denise holds an M.B.A. in Health Care Administration and Finance from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, Chicago, IL, and a B.S. in Physical Therapy from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI.
