System Vice President of Perioperative ServicesWe currently represent a health system in search of an energetic, results-oriented nursing professional for its System Vice President of Perioperative Services (System VP). This newly created position is responsible for providing overall operational and strategic leadership for perioperative services. The System VP will oversee the financial, budgetary, research, administrative, marketing and quality management of perioperative services, and will organize the strategic planning process, developing short-term and long-term goals for the service. QualificationsThe ideal candidate will be a strong, politically savvy executive with a demonstrated track record as a successful perioperative services leader. He/she will have a solid understanding of the practice issues surrounding the areas of surgical service operations, post anesthesia care, and ambulatory surgery. Those with experience in managing a product line service will be considered first. A bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred, and a master’s degree in nursing, business or related field is desired. A minimum of 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years managing a complex perioperative service department within a multi-hospital system, is necessary. The OrganizationThe System is comprised of hospitals, hospice and home care services, a major medical research institute and many other health-related facilities. These facilities treat more than 240,000 inpatients and receive more than 2.5 million patients through emergency department and ambulatory care programs. The System is the largest employer in the region and one of the largest healthcare systems in the country.
