President, Physician Practice Organization We represent an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic, experienced healthcare executive with leadership experience in managing a large physician organization to serve as President, Physician Practice Organization (President) for a leading community-based healthcare system. This position reports directly to the System’s Chief Financial Officer.
The President will be responsible for the overall strategic direction, and fiscal and operational management of the physician organization. He/she will maintain broad responsibilities for all administrative functions of system-employed physician practices, including strategic and business planning and development, operations, finance, physician compensation, marketing, human resources, information systems, and performance improvement The President, working with management and members of the medical staff, will identify and address areas of physician need and will be responsible for the development and execution of a strategic medical staff development plan. QualificationsThe ideal candidate will be a strategic, experienced medical group practice executive with outstanding leadership abilities, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with staff, physicians, and senior management. Creative problem-solving skills and a strong commitment to customer service, quality assurance, and patient care are required. Candidates must have a successful track record in physician recruitment and contract negotiation; be well-versed in healthcare finance; and knowledgeable of physician practice information technology. A minimum of 10 years of experience in medical group practice management, with demonstrated excellence in planning, developing, and growing practices is required, as is prior experience in a senior practice management leadership role within a large acute care hospital or healthcare organization. A master’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or related field is also required. Membership in the Medical Group Management Association and/or the American College of Medical Practice Executives is desirable. The OrganizationThe organization is one of the leading community-based healthcare systems in the area, comprised of two community hospitals that serve as the cornerstones of this regional health system that also includes a family health center, home health services, physician practices, long-term care facilities, and ambulatory centers. The System currently employs approximately 65 community-based physicians who provide primary care and specialty services, including adult medicine, family medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, and gastroenterology, based in multiple locations throughout the area.
