Vice President, Finance & Chief Financial Officer
Vice President of Finance & Chief Financial Officer This is a unique opportunity for an accomplished healthcare finance executive to assume the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at a community-based Catholic Health System based in northern New England. The CFO will be part of the senior management team and will report directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer.
Primary responsibilities for the role include the development, interpretation, coordination, and administration of the System’s policies for finance, accounting, managed care, patient financial services, internal controls, management information systems, and auditing. The CFO will participate in strategic planning, ensuring compatibility with the organization’s financial capacity and fiscal performance. Qualifications The ideal candidate for this position will be an experienced financial executive with a minimum of five years of progressively responsible financial management experience in a hospital setting. The candidate must have the ability to work effectively as a senior member of the management team. The successful candidate will be a hands-on and knowledgeable financial manager. Personal characteristics include honesty, integrity, flexibility, and a friendly, outgoing personality. He/she will also be a leader with excellent communication and mentoring skills, strict attention to detail, as well as a strong sense of accountability. A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline (accounting/finance) is required. The Organization The organization is a well-established nonprofit healthcare system consisting of the Hospital, an ambulatory care center, an alternative health services group, and a real estate company. This 100-bed, acute care community hospital was founded more than sixty years ago. The Catholic institution’s mission embodies wellness, promotion, and healing of the whole person – mind, body, and spirit. For the past eight years, the System has held an affiliate status with the Catholic health organization, Covenant Health Systems. Recently, the founding order of Sisters, along with the local community governing board, made the decision to increase the organization’s relationship by becoming full members with Covenant Health Systems. The Sisters plan to transfer sponsorship to this Catholic organization ensuring that the Catholic identity mission and ministry of the System will continue well into the future.
