Senior Director, Quality and Patient Safety We represent an excellent opportunity for a successful quality leader to serve as Senior Director, Quality and Patient Safety. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Clinical Affairs/Chief Medical Officer, the position is responsible for the management of quality and performance improvement, patient safety, risk management, and the service excellence program. The Senior Director manages a team of 14 and is responsible for working with the Patient Care Assessment Coordinator and implementing and coordinating the Patient Care Assessment Program as established under 243 CMR 3.00 and regulated by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine. Additionally, the Sr. Director staffs and/or administers hospital committees in the areas of quality and patient safety, including a Board-level Quality Committee, Quality and Patient Safety Council, Professional Review Committee, and Patient Care Assessment Committee, and attends the Medical Executive Committee and the Credentials Committee. Qualifications The ideal candidate for this position will be a seasoned quality manager with experience in patient safety and risk management with a demonstrated track record in successful operational management. A strong customer service orientation and commitment to excellence is critical. Also critical is knowledge of pertinent regulations – Joint Commission, MA Department of Public Health, and Board of Medicine. Additional qualifications: collaborative, excellent interpersonal skills, knowledge of hospital environment, comfortable interfacing with clinicians, highly ethical, detail-oriented and exacting – a stickler for follow-through, highly credible, able to inspire trust and confidence, and exercise the utmost discretion in dealing with highly sensitive matters. BSN or BS required, Master’s preferred. Minimum 5 years’ experience in the healthcare/hospital environment with experience in quality and performance improvement, and patient safety risk management initiatives.
