Our client, a nonprofit group practice of 450 salaried physicians who provide primary and specialty care at two medical centers in Massachusetts, seeks a dynamic and experienced leader to coordinate and grow its cancer program.  The organization is a financially strong and stable organization, with a reputation of clinical excellence and a strong commitment to quality and ongoing improvement of the institution. 

Working with the Medical Chairs, the Executive Director oversees the operational and financial aspects of oncology services provided, ensures that program goals are achieved by participating in the development of clinical and administrative objectives, policies and procedures, and by coordinating the delivery of oncology services.  A major focus for this Director is the continued growth of the program through the development of relationships and opportunities with external parties that will raise awareness and provide increased patient referrals.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a knowledgeable and seasoned oncology service leader with a demonstrated track record of success in administering and growing cancer services.  A solid understanding of the various oncology modalities in both ambulatory and inpatient settings and prior experience managing a complex service line are required.  He/she possesses a vision about cancer care and how a cancer center should “look.” 

In addition, the ideal candidate will possess a master’s degree, a minimum of five years of previously related experience, preferably in a cancer center, and approximately five years of progressively more responsible practice management operations experience.
