Chief Financial Officer
A 125-bed community hospital serving residents of southern New England seeks a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Reporting to the Executive Vice President, the CFO will be an integral member of the Hospital’s executive leadership team. This is a unique opportunity for an outstanding healthcare finance professional to join a highly regarded healthcare provider in the region. Primary responsibilities for this role include the development, interpretation, coordination, and administration of the Hospital’s policies for finance, accounting, budgeting, reimbursement, decision support, revenue cycle, health information management, and patient access. The CFO will participate in strategic planning and ensuring compatibility with the Hospital’s financial capacity as well as fiscal performance. Qualifications The ideal candidate will be a healthcare finance professional, possessing both analytical and strategic-thinking skills. At least five years of progressively responsible financial management experience within a healthcare system or hospital setting is required. A master’s degree in healthcare administration, finance, or related field or a CPA is preferred. In addition to a strong track record of providing successful financial leadership, the best candidate will be an excellent facilitator and consensus builder, with strong verbal and written communication skills. The Organization The Hospital is the area’s predominant general acute care hospital, providing a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services including medical, surgical, obstetrics/gynecology, pediatric, intensive care, and emergency care. The Hospital has 800 employees and 120 primary and specialty physicians. Annually, 4,800 patients are admitted and the emergency department handles 26,000 visits. The Hospital holds a market share greater than 50% within its primary service area. Its annual operating budget is $86 million.
