Our client, a nationally recognized healthcare system in the Northeast, seeks a Senior Director of Nursing (Senior Director) to lead the operations of the nursing department’s acute care units for its flagship hospital.  The position reports to the Vice President of Patient Care Services of the System.  The Senior Director will be an integral member of the System’s nursing leadership team.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be an experienced, dynamic, and approachable nursing leader with a focus on results.  He/she will put patient care first and act as a role model for others.  The successful candidate will possess a collaborative style and strong critical-thinking skills.

A bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in nursing, business, hospital administration, or a related filed is needed.  Seven years’ experience in nursing leadership is required.  Experience in an academic medical center and a Magnet hospital is a plus.

The Organization
The organization is a system of physicians, providers, hospitals, and community health centers in the Northeast.  The foundation for this network is a 180-bed acute care inpatient teaching facility.  The Hospital maintains a strong academic program and rich tradition as a center for learning.  Additionally, the network offers 24-hour emergency and trauma care, comprehensive cancer care and heart care, dialysis, and most medical and surgical specialties.  The affiliated clinic is located on the same campus as the flagship hospital and provide outpatient primary and specialty care.
