Chief Financial Officer
Chief Financial Officer A community hospital serving residents of southern Maine seeks a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Reporting to the President & CEO, the CFO will be an integral member of the Hospital’s executive leadership team. This is a unique opportunity for an outstanding healthcare finance professional to join a highly regarded healthcare provider in the region.
Primary responsibilities for this role include the development, interpretation, coordination, and administration of the Hospital’s policies for finance, accounting, budgeting, reimbursement, decision support, revenue cycle, insurance, investments, health information management, materials management, and patient access. The CFO will participate in strategic planning and ensure compatibility with the Hospital’s financial capacity as well as fiscal performance. Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be a healthcare finance professional, possessing both analytical and strategic-thinking skills. At least five years of progressively responsible financial management experience within a healthcare system or hospital setting is required. A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline is required. A master’s degree in healthcare administration, finance, related field, or a CPA is preferred. In addition to a strong track record of providing successful financial leadership, the best candidate will be an excellent facilitator and consensus builder, with strong verbal and written communication skills. The Organization: This full-service hospital provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services including medical, surgical, obstetrics/gynecology, pediatric, intensive care, and emergency care. More than 75% of the organization’s revenue is derived from robust outpatient and physician services. The Hospital has 720 employees and over 60 primary and specialty physicians. Annually, 2,250 patients are admitted and the emergency department handles 21,000 visits. Its annual operating budget is $83 million.
