President of Large Multispecialty Group Practice

Our client, a healthcare system in Maine, seeks an innovative and respected physician executive to lead its physician group practices.  This position reports directly to the President & Chief Executive Officer.

The President is responsible for the engagement, integration, coordination, oversight, and leadership of all medical group activities.  As an essential leadership position within the healthcare system, the President guides the strategy, medical policies, practices, and clinical programs of the group.  He/she also has accountability for the quality and appropriateness of the care provided by the clinicians.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this position of President is a seasoned physician leader with a demonstrated track record in leading physician groups, working within integrated health systems and driving quality outcomes.  A passion for performance improvement and its link to quality and cost outcomes is essential.  Collaboration and solid communication skills are keys to the success of the President.  A doctor of medicine or osteopathy is needed.  A master’s degree such as an MBA is preferred.  Board certification and experience in a senior executive position in healthcare and 10 years of clinical practice are required.
