Vice President of Nursing
Vice President of NursingOur client, an outstanding community teaching hospital, is looking for a Vice President of Nursing (Vice President) to assume responsibility for nursing care, and build on a tradition of excellence in patient care and personal service. The Vice President reports to the Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services and will be an integral member of the leadership team. This key role is accountable for nursing leadership, professional nursing practices, and the daily operations of the nursing department. QualificationsThe ideal candidate will be a creative, energetic, and enthusiastic nurse leader with exceptional interpersonal skills. S/he will be required to foster growth and positive changes, and improve the provision of care, as well as establish and develop relationships with department heads, physician leaders, and staff. Five to ten years of progressive nursing leadership experience in a healthcare setting is needed in addition to a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in nursing, business, hospital administration or related field. A registered nursing license is also required. Strong financial and data management competencies are necessary, as are problem-solving, decision-making and implementation skills. The OrganizationOur client is a successful, growing healthcare organization; one of the region’s largest hospitals with primary care and specialty outpatient services, including sports medicine, breast and GYN health center, and a cancer care program. The relationship between nursing and the medical staff is respectful and collaborative. The facility is JCAHO accredited.
